This was made for a golfing Irish-man in his 80's and his two grandsons, both in their mid-20's and avid Twins baseball fans. My intent was to do a golf green with a golfer on the top and an Irish tartan plaid on the sides of the cake. But after the request to incorporate baseball, too, I added the Twins logo, switched to a baseball diamond, and did the plaid in Twins colors with shamrocks added. I'm sure I won't be doing this design again! My friends loved it and that's all that really counts :) The cake was a 10" square Irish Car Bomb cake filled and iced with chocolate ganache and brown sugar Swiss Meringue buttercream. All decorations are handmade from homemade MFF/gumpaste. Thanks for looking!

My son asked for a cake to celebrate multiple birthdays on his softball team - including his own 31st. Using the team's logo, I came up with this design. The softball - yes, with bowling ball finger holes? - is fondant covered styrofoam. The cake is a 10" 2-layer Irish Car Bomb with chocolate filling. I airbrushed the gray and used buttercream transfer for the logos. It's really hot and humid here - hence the shine :( In anycase, it was fun to do and he loved it. Thanks for looking!

Baked for a group of birthday children as part of my BirthdayCakes4Free charity baking. What boys don't love baseball... especially when "You're in Twins Territory!" The cake is iced with Jennifer Dontz's buttercream (Thank you Jennifer!!) and covered with MMF (Edna's recipe - Thank you!). All decorations are fondant, except for the baseball mitt and the bat, which are molded out of chocolate clay. Thanks for looking :>)
