I was so honoured to be asked to create a cake for the fashion issue, and absolutely thrilled to be chosen. Here is my interpretation of a Versace haute couture gown. 23 carat gold leaf tier, with hand cut and hand crafted pieces.

Very loosely based upon a Louboutin design - without the red sole as not to upset the pink/black theme!

The sugar brooch on the big shoe is studded with real black Swarovski crystals, with a large crystal centre.

Hi Babyluv! I unfortunately don't. But I did buy new shoes, washed them, covered them in saran wrap, traced the sole with parchment paper and used that as a template. Then I laid the gumpaste on top of the shoe (still covered in saran wrap) and let dry for maybe 4 days at least. For the heel, I sort of just eyeballed the actual heel until I got the shape I wanted (stuck a lollipop stick in the middle of the log) and let it dry separately. Did the same with the strap, then I glued them all together with royal icing. Hope that helps! :)
