The bride and groom wanted something that reflected the northwest, meaning fir trees and a beautiful sunset. They were thinking about a green triangle to pass off for the firs. I couldn't bring myself to do that so I went 3D. They were more than pleased!

Topsy turvy wedding cake delivered yesterday. All the flowers are gum paste. It was a different experience delivering this cake because where I live, people are not really used to seeing more "advanced" cakes. So I heard several people whispering as I went by that the cake is "totally lopsided" and "that would not work for my wedding!" I just kept thinking how sorry I am for them that they don't know an outstanding cake when they see one!!!! Their just used to plain old traditional shapes! BUT... the bride and groom loved it!!! As people came in they would take them to the cake table to show them their cake! The groom couldn't stop saying "It's a topsy turvy cake!" They thought they had the coolest cake! I think so too.

My art project for a paper on transition. All the colors on the bottom tier are the same as on the top, just with no order and tinted with gray for "depression"
