My first attempt at a BBQ grill cake, inspired by others I found here on CC. WASC cake w/cookies & cream filling, iced in BC frosting. Food is RK treats covered w/MMF; mustard bottle & plaque are MMF/gum paste mix. Charcoals are toasted marshmallows sprinkled with powdered sugar. It didn't turn out exactly as I'd planned, but it was still fun & kitschy and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks for looking!

This was my final cake for the Wilton Fondant & Gum Paste course. I wasn't too fond of any of the cakes in the course book; I wanted more vibrant color. This is deep fudge cake w/peanut butter filling & frosting, covered in homemade MMF, fondant ribbon (that's harder to do in one piece than I thought it would be!), and fondant/gum paste flowers.

This was my first cake project outside of cake class. It was for my baby boy's 1st birthday. We purchased party accessories that were "Little Quarterback's 1st Birthday", which was green & orange, so that was the theme. I did a large football cake, then 6 of the mini "Gridiron Kids" cakes, one of which was his smash cake. They were a hit!

I chose to do the springtime flower cut-out cake from the Wilton course book for my final cake. I omitted the green sticks for stems on the top. It was my first attempt at using homemade marshmallow fondant (MMF) as well as my first stacked cake. The top 6" tier was butter yellow w/chocolate pudding filling and the bottom 10" tier was red velvet w/cream cheese filling. Being a novice, it took me the better part of 2 days to complete! But I was pretty happy with the results.
