Recently I was lucky enough to join a gorgeous group of ladies in one of Debbie Brown's Sydney classes. Not only is Debbie fabulously talented and a wonderful teacher, she also has a fantastic sense of humour! We had a great day, hosted by lovely Lea and the girls at One Stop Cake Decorations, and here is my finished cake. Thanks for looking :) x

Here are the beautiful flowers the incredible Michelle taught us over the last 2 days in her class at Inspired by Michelle. She was fabulous and generous as always. We had loads of fun and learnt so much and I'm so happy with how they came out. Thanks for looking :)

This was my first shoe cake and i couldn't find any help anywhere on how to build a wedge shoe. I only has 2 days to make it so the pressure was on to design a fondant wedge that wouldn't collapse whilst semi-dry. Very stressful! The lovely Mum of the birthday girl organised it as a last minute surprise and smuggled her favourite new heels out of the house for me to photograph. I think it's fairly close, wish i had more time to properly set the fondant so it didn't all droop, maybe next time lol! Thanks for looking :)

This is my first double-barrell cake. It's made up of 2 9 inch cakes, torted 3 times with white chocolate ganache. I covered it in pale green buttercream frosting which is the birthday girls favourite colour. It has alternate layers of white chocolate mud and caramel mud. It ended up about 20 inches tall (around 50cms) including the frangipanis. It took about a week from starting making the flowers to finishing. Thanks for looking

This is the cake that nearly died a violent death. It was for my daughters best friend, she wanted something with frangipanis and her friends fave colour blue. I have had the pan a while but never used it, saw some on here so decided it needed a chocolate shell base. I followed the instructions but it ended up going a bit like this...melt a ton of milk chocolate....put in fridge to set in pan.....set chocolate won't come out of pan....pan bashed on breadboard....repeat....repeat again.....and again.....dig at it....heat it.....bash it again....and again.....throw it at someone???.....bash again....and again....are they heart palpitations?????.....bash again.....smash and dig it out...stick it back together with icing....bet it tasted great haha! Thanks for looking :)

This is my youngest daughters 1st birthday cake. It was the first cake I ever made. It was 2 layers of vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. The flowers were all fondant. People at her party loved the cake and encouraged me to make more. There were also matching cupcakes. Thanks for looking :)

This cake was for a very youthful 80 year old lady who loves her books and her morning coffee. The theme for the party was red and gold and hearts. The cake was white chocolate mud with white chocolate ganache filling. I covered it it buttercream frosting then an overlay of RTR fondant. This was the first square cake i've made so had to learn corners on the run lol! The client said it was a taste sensation and was extremely happy with how much the gumpaste figure looked like her Mum. This was also my first gumpaste figure and chair so I was very happy with the result :)

Hi, this cake was my first time working with fondant. I had so much fun even tho I procrastinated for hours before finally rolling out the fondant and putting it on the cake. It went surprisingly well as I had researched this site SO much. It also holds my first attempt at bows, quite a few firsts on this cake haha! My neice just LOVED it. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

This was my first attempt at covering a cake in ganache instead of buttercream before the fondant. This method gives lovely sharp corners if you know what you're doing...hmmmm....I didn't quite get the result i was after lol! I will wait until it's warmer too as the ganache was nearly set by the time i got it on the cake! Very hard to spread. Anyway, apparently it tasted great, it was white choc mud with white choc ganache. My client said her niece wouldn't take her eyes off it and kept asking if she could play with Mickey. Thanks for looking :)
