I got this order as a white fondant cake, flowers to be added at the venue. Sometimes it is great to have free reign with a design but in this case I did not get to meet the bride so I made the cake as simple as possible Since I mainly get orders for buttercream finished cakes, it was a good opportunity to do the sharp edge with buttercream under fondant. 4 and 8 inch cake finished in fondant with gumpaste hydrangea.

I?ve been doing so much buttercream that I FORGOT to make my buttercream undercoat stiffer for the fondant application and ended up with a mountain instead of a cake! So I had to do it over ? halving the liquid in the buttercream to get the sharp...

My Client ordered this cake that was designed based on a other cake I had done recently. This time I used metal cutters for the cymbidium and this made the process go a lot faster. Butter cream finish, fondant accents, sugar cymbidium

This is a six inch cake. The order was for butter cream only no fondant, however I convinced them to get a sugar orchid. Done for a wedding planner who usually uses Caymancake , who is a little under the weather today

I did not know that this would take so long to do! Finished in butter cream with fondant accents. I think that a fondant finish would have allowed me to go faster.
