I tried to contrast the informality of an autumn hedgerow with berries and fruit with the more formal baroque style piping which I hand gilded (and took four coats as the colour kept sinking in!). I also tried to keep an acorn theme between the two. Thoroughly enjoyed making this and learnt many valuable lessons - ie only colour acorns in natural light, otherwise they will look like mini oranges!! (An added bonus was that it won first prize in the competition - a very nice surprise!). Thank you for looking :o)

First attempt at a wedding cake and piping - my very talented friend very kindly offered to take these photographs. I enjoyed colouring the hellebores - but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get two the same! (I was delighted when this was placed second at a show). Thank you for taking the time to look! x
