I find that if I elevate my cake and lay the fondant on top and just smooth the sides before cutting off the excess, it works great.

All MMF, orange trim in BC, 18 orange fresh roses, Mandarin Orange cake w/ Orange Marmalade Cream Filling. Does anyone have any suggestions for applying the fondant to the cake better??? This was a nightmare :(, it came out so sloppy & uneven. ...

All MMF, orange trim in BC, 18 orange fresh roses, Mandarin Orange cake w/ Orange Marmalade Cream Filling. Does anyone have any suggestions for applying the fondant to the cake better??? This was a nightmare :(, it came out so sloppy & uneven. These are the wedding colors & despite all the trouble, everyone liked it, and it did at least Taste Good! :)
