Just a wee cake for my Mum's 60th birthday. I didn't have enough time to do her full justice. Around the sides of the cake I put representations of things about her, such as gardening, travel, sewing etc.

Chocolate fudge cake, covered in white/milk ganache. I have been wanting to try chocolate marbling for a while, so a man-cake seemed to be a good one to experiment on. My first try with couverture chocolate too, it's WAY nicer than compound, I'm hooked!

The second cake from class:
chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, embossed chocolate wrap, chocolate curls, and chocolate shards....whew!!

This was easier than it looked. Iced the cake with chocolate ganache (1/4 cup cream with 500g chocolate)....
