This cake was SUCH a joy to work on. I loved every moment spent working on the details. This was for my niece's 8th grade / 14th unbirthday. ;) I was very behind because I had done a wedding cake the day before and wasn't able to finish putting the...

This cake was made for my beautiful niece - instead of only coming up to a certain point with the petals, I decided to cover the entire tier with them. She told me what she'd like the cake to look like - I hope this made her happy :)

This cake was for my nephew - he wanted a drum & Gene Simmons, and this is what I came up with. Gene is all fondant, with the exception of his tongue....it a mix of marzipan and fondant. :) Fun to make!!

I made this cake for my beautiful niece who recently turned 19. This was such a labor of love for me. All of my favorite colors and style. I hand painted the "cameo", which she adored. TFL :)

I have a cake I'm doing in March that I wanted to do a practice run on since I haven't yet done the ruffle technique. I used a 5 petal cutter & a ball tool to thin the edges of each petal. Thank you for looking :) Here's the link to the tutorial -...

My twin nieces are celebrating the big 15 (lol) and asked me to make them a cake like one done by Pink Cake Box. This is my version of the cake seen here : http://images.pinkcakebox.com/cake460.jpg - the zebra is free handed with black gel color and...

I made this cake for my brother's 35th birthday - the cards on top add up to that :) I made two 10's because I didn't want to hand paint another royal card only to cover it up by another. (I also wanted all spades) His name is Joe, so I thought...

I made this cake for my Mom's birthday. Once again, I rushed myself so I know it's not perfect, but I'm REALLY happy with how the painting on the bottom layer came out :) TFL!!

I made this cake for my friend's birthday. My 13 year old nephew worked very hard on the leaves for me, so this one is dear to my heart :)

I have mixed feelings about this cake... I love the colors, and my roses came out pretty good for only having done them once before on a smaller scale, but it isn't as clean as I would have liked it to be. My neighbor asked me to make it at 3pm on...

I had batter left over from a ball cap cake that I did, so I decided to go ahead and get some more practice in. The lid of this cake is RKT, the "tissue paper" is a mix of fondant & gumpaste. I know the bow is pretty big, but I'm in Texas!! hahah TFL

The only criteria I had to meet was that red and black be in the cake. I liked making this cake - if I had to do it again, though, I would have made the scroll work smaller. :) I had a heck of a time writing the letters, which was mostly me being...

Hello, I am new in the cake world, although this is my love since I was 8 yrs old. It was only last year that I was able to focus on my passion and developed my skill in baking (self taught), My love for cakes sparks again because of a friend request. I know that I still have to perfect my cake creations just like everyone else here in Cake Central. All of the cake creations that has been uploaded by other members are so Awesome!!

Hello! I too am a newbee in the cake world My passion for cake only began about 18 months ago and I must say that it is a gift from God because I can't even explain how this came about in my life, especially since I have no formal training or experience at all. But the best advice that I can give you is practice, practice, practice. Take every opportunity you can to bake and use your creative imagination in your decorating. You will be amazed at what you can do when you put your mind and heart to it! Also, utilize YouTube to learn different techniques, they have a wealth of information and tutorials. Cake Central is an awesome community to be a part of...such an abundance of talented cake artists in one place can only be beneficial to newness like ourselves. I wish you the best of luck in your cake ventures! Be inspired and do what you love
