10" and 8" buttercream iced, gum paste buildings (made way in advance so they weren't rounded to mold to cake, but oh well), toy spiderman. Used white icing on bottom tier b/c much easier to deal with (and eat) than red. Thanks to other CCers for...

Sheet cake for 15 yr old son who loves to fly (simulators for now). I loved the idea of this cake, but making an iPhone cake for his twin the same night + no time + ran out of fondant = bad looking air control tower. Blah. Tower made from rkt,...

iPhone cake for my 15 yr old. He dictated the different apps for the cake. I really didn't want to do black icing. Maybe I should have tried ganache? Chocolate sheet cake with black buttercream icing with fondant accents. Yep, the white writing...

My first topsy turvy cake! 10" bottom (3 layers) and 6" top (3 layers). Buttercream frosting with fondant accents; the family doesn't like fondant all over the cake. Didn't taper the sides of the cake as much as I probably should have, but I...

Tie dye cake for son. He picked the colors. Probably the easiest cake I've ever made (it didn't matter how smooth the icing was on top!).

Cake for my 14 yr old...so not to "kiddie". Wanted polka dots, but done in a more boy-friendly way with rainbow colors.

Monopoly inspired cake for son's birthday. 12" square pan, buttercream icing with some fondant decorations (dice, cards, colored rectangles, cop, etc.). Originally tried to do color flow for some decor but the images were too small - fondant...

Hello, I am new in the cake world, although this is my love since I was 8 yrs old. It was only last year that I was able to focus on my passion and developed my skill in baking (self taught), My love for cakes sparks again because of a friend request. I know that I still have to perfect my cake creations just like everyone else here in Cake Central. All of the cake creations that has been uploaded by other members are so Awesome!!

Hello! I too am a newbee in the cake world My passion for cake only began about 18 months ago and I must say that it is a gift from God because I can't even explain how this came about in my life, especially since I have no formal training or experience at all. But the best advice that I can give you is practice, practice, practice. Take every opportunity you can to bake and use your creative imagination in your decorating. You will be amazed at what you can do when you put your mind and heart to it! Also, utilize YouTube to learn different techniques, they have a wealth of information and tutorials. Cake Central is an awesome community to be a part of...such an abundance of talented cake artists in one place can only be beneficial to newness like ourselves. I wish you the best of luck in your cake ventures! Be inspired and do what you love
