I have been so inspired by ruffles these days that when started to make a back to school cake for my kids school I ended up with this ..LOL. if you look the top is not smooth since it was suppose to be covered with fondant for the back to school...

technically this was a welcome back from the first day of school cake! it's a 13 x 9in w/ bc icing and fondant accents. i put my 3 kids fave colors in the middle then wrote their name & grade! they loved their after school snack!

This is a 10 inch cake covered in buttercream. The animals and drums are made of fondant. The drum sticks are toothpicks with royal icing on the tip.
