An irish dancing shoe, some shamrocks, and a gold medal, of course!

A young friend is traveling to the Oireachtas, a world-championship-qualifying Irish dance competition this week. She's also turning 13. Her mom asked if I might make her some cookies as a surprise on the trip. Good luck to all the Bracken dancers and everyone competing at the Oireachtas this week! Royal icing with gumpaste bow.

Fun surfboard cookies for a little boy's birthday party. What really made them shine was the packaging, I think, with the brown sugar "sand."

My little friend Kenzie is heading off to the World Championships of Irish step dancing on Monday! She'll have her birthday while she's in Belfast for the competition, so I'm sneakily coordinating with her mom to send her with cookies, since they won't be able to have their usual cake. I duplicated the solo dress she'll wear at the Worlds, the medalions that hang behind the dancers on stage, shoes, and trophy.

I've had this cupcake cutter for a few years, but have never used it! So glad I had the chance to use this charming, easy cutter.

At our annual gingerbread house decorating party, there's already so much sugar that we don't need a dessert table. But I came up with the idea of making the backdrops for the beverage and food tables INTO a cookie display! I wanted it to look like a folk art painting of a winter country scene. Charming little houses and barns, sleighs, trees, snowmen, and Santa, of course!

I've seen cookies done like this with chocolate, but here in Phoenix in October (my daughter's birthday month), it's usually still hot for chocolate. Instead, I used royal icing. These little mummified oreos were a huge hit at my daughter's Egyptology birthday party!

I just LOVE the Egyptian cookie cutters from Fancy Flours! They made these complex designs so remarkably easy. Royal icing on NFSC sugar cookies.

Sure would love to see cookies organized and categorized like the cakes are! Would be so much easier to navigate through to find exactly what you are looking for! So many beautiful cookies with such talent - just as wonderful as the cakes. Think they deserve their very own spotlight as well!! :)
