These were made using a large rubber stamp. A cookie cutter was made to conform to the outline of the design. Rolled buttercream was embossed with the stamp, then cut out with the cutter and frozen. Cookies were cut using the same cutter. Frozen embossed buttercream cutouts were placed on the hot cookies as they came from the oven.

These are first experiments with a few designs that will be incorporated into a going away box of cookies for someone who's driving to Los Angeles to seek fame and fortune. Not sure what else I'll do. Stars of some sort, for sure. This one required making a cutter, so I started practicing here. NFSC with Alice's Icing. Shaded with nontoxic chalks. I'm really struggling with consistency. My flooding is really rough. I guess I need to go thinner still. Practice, practice, practice!

These were made with NFSC and rolled buttercream, which I embossed with lace medallion makers, then froze and popped on top of the hot cookies. The cookies were made with cutters shaped to conform to the lace makers.

NFSC with rolled buttercream. I embossed the RBC first, using gumpaste cutters and lace molds. Then cut with the cookie cutter. Froze...then popped the frozen RBC cutout on the hot cookie. Some cookies in this photo are just cut with tiny cutters and tips, which I also like. But, I thought the embossing was really neat.

These cookies look like what I was after when I was trying to make the basket. No Fail cookies, with Alice's Cookie Icing. The general advice is not to thin Alice's icing, because they won't dry correctly, but I couldn't get the look I was after without doing so. (I don't like royal icing...too hard on my teeth.) I'll come back after this afternoon's get-together and post a report on whether they stuck together or not.

I wanted to take this to my volunteer gig this morning, but the cookies are too ugly. I went ahead and made the basket for the practice, since I've never done these before. My ex used to complain that I had "too much craft stuff." He didn't use the word "stuff," though. :) He would be laughing if he knew I had everything on hand that I needed to do this...from the basket weights to the little bags. Maybe he was right. :)

Sure would love to see cookies organized and categorized like the cakes are! Would be so much easier to navigate through to find exactly what you are looking for! So many beautiful cookies with such talent - just as wonderful as the cakes. Think they deserve their very own spotlight as well!! :)
