This rose was the topper for the Blue and White cake. I started with the center, attached it to the cake and then added the large petals from the cake to the flower.

The entire fan is gumpaste. The blades were made separately and then a large piece of gumpaste was attached to the front and back to give it a fabric affect. The branches were painted with airbrush colors and then the flowers were added. This was...

This was entered in the first specimen competition in Tulsa. I came in 3rd because the wrist band was too heavy. I knew it was, but I was out of time. Anyway, I was told that the Orchid Society said that I had the most botanically correct orchid. ...

This was an entry in the Rose Specimen competition at the 2006 OSSAS. I didn't place. The comments said my centers were too dark yellow! Oh well, I still like them.

This is a replacement topper for the cake I entered in Maryland. The "vase" is made with cinnamon sticks and the flowers and leaves are gumpaste.

I got 2nd place at the 2006 OSSAS. Not bad considering the other cakes that were there.

This piece was made for the Chocolate Festival in Norman, OK several years ago. The pieces have to be named and this is the best I could do.

I made my own white and dark chocolate fondant to make the gumpaste. It was a very stressful piece to...

The stacked animals, snake and flames are gumpaste, the wood and trees are pastillage. The leaves are rice paper and the marshmallow sticks are colored rice noodles.

This was just an idea that popped into my head and I thought it would be fun...

This is my all time favorite piece. It was made with white chocolate gumpaste for a chocoloate festival several years ago. It was shown on The Food Network's Top 5 when they first started showing different competitions around the country.

I...
