This was a fun cake for the children of a church. I made the butter cake filled with strawberries, peaches and pineapples. 7 minute icing and hand made and decorated cookies attached to the sides. It was a hit with the kids.

This is a danish tradition. Its a different kind of Almond cake.
Its just eggwhites, sugar and almond marcipan. It's allways a succes at parties in DK.

The small ones are macarone dessert. (same recipe just a littel more eggwhites.

I made this cake for Administrative Professionals Appreciation Day. The roses were a disaster...the icing was so melty from too much milk and hot frustrated hands I had to freeze the cone middle before I could add petals. Oh yea...and I learned not...

I topped the cake with floral foam w/ wax paper under it, so it wouldn't touch the cake and anchored it w/ skewers as well. I did put the flowers in the foam first before putting it on the cake. I used flowers that would last a long time and didn't...

Have to say I'm disappointed in this cake. The color and texture is all wrong. It looks just like the other pics now that I look closely, but I'll make it differently next year... maybe using malted milk chips like i "just" discovered......

This is a flourless cake that uses ground almonds as it's base. It has ground coffee and cocoa in the cake and is frosted with a Mocha "Butter"cream, topped with chocolate covered coffee beans.
