My niece asked for a Hannah Montanna cake for her birthday. She gave me this crazy napkin with all kinds of weird swirls and flowers all over it that I was supposed to somehow match. This was as close to it as I could get. She FLIPPED when I brought it in :)

My SIL's sister ordered this cake for her dd's 7th birthday. It was supposed to be for two girls. One of them wanted a garden party theme, hence all the bees and flowers. The other wanted High School Musical with lots of stars and music notes. I really didn't like the way it turned out but they loved it.

I saw a cake in the gallery with the cutest little SP cookie monster on top. I tried to duplicate it but I couldn’t get the fur right. I gave up and used my star tip instead. Half and Half cake with whipped icing, cookie monster is partially fondant and fur is whipped icing, cookies are fondant.

This is my niece's 6th birthday cake. I was given a plate from her party supplies and tried my best to match it. I didn't want to even think about trying to make the horse by hand so I bought one. Everything else is MMF. The top tier is chocolate chip fudge cake with fudge filling, the bottom is plain white with BC. My niece loved it.

One of the cakes my Barbie cake led to. They wanted it just like the Barbie cake except with Tinkerbell on top.

This cake was SOOOOOOOOO hard! I never worked with color flow beyond my Wilton courses but I really wanted to do this cake in the yearbook. 4 days was not long enough for the buildings to dry and I’ve got zero patience so my fussing around with them while they dried resulted in 90% of them cracking and breaking. So that is why the cake isn’t completely covered in buildings as the cake should be. The mom freaked out when I brought it in, literally fell to the floor and screamed. That was a good sign ïŠ The birthday boy was just as excited so while I think it looks awful they loved it and I ended up getting paid more than I requested so go figure.

FBCT of Elmo. I had to throw this one together as it was a last mintue order. My FBCT didn't have enough time to freeze so it didn't all come off the wax paper and I had to freehand his middle and feet.

Little girls 4th birthday. Mom said do it super girly and mentioned the birthday girl liked Barbie. I had bought some some fondant cutters a long time ago and never got around to using them. Obviously I put them to good use with this cake.

This was my attempt at making the cake at the end of the new Wilton YB. It was for my SIL's, sister's little girls 4th birthday. They loved it, me not so much.

I made this for a my nephew's 3rd birthday. The flowers and leaves are MMF, everything else is BC. I used two football shaped cakes that I cut the bottom off of and doweled and iced together for his house.

This was for a little boys 1st birthday. It's a half and half cake with the cookies and cream filling from this website (which is sooooo tasty). I totally flaked on the FBCT of Lightning McQueen. I forgot that when I was done with it the image would be flipped and I didn't compensate for that with his car number. So instead of being number 95 he is well not number 95 lol. They loved it all the same and probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't blabbed my big mouth about it.

Dark chocolate mud cake with chocolate ganache. Buttercream icing and royal icing flowers. This was my daughter’s 4th birthday cake. At one point the shrub to the left had been a tree. But once I pulled the cake out of the fridge the kids freaked out and I couldn’t control all the little hands grabbing for the doll on the top. The tree was just an innocent victim, Odette was lucky to have survived.

I had very high hopes for this cake. My attempt at making it was just plain embarrassing. I ended up not charging for this cake and I have since retired Cinderella into the deepest darkest reaches of my cabinet.

My little brother asked for this cake for his birthday a couple of years ago. I made this before I had taken any of the Wilton courses. It's funny to look back on it now and see how much my skills have improved. The stars are sugar cookie-pops. I couldn't believe how crazy the kids went over those things. I try and offer those to all my clients who are ordering for a kids birthday.

I gave my daughter all my decorating books and magazines to look through. I told her to pick out whatever cake she wanted and I’d make it. I soooooo lucked out on this one. I thought she’d pick a giant wedding cake for sure but she went with the cake on the cover of the 2005 Wilton Yearbook. It was super easy. I had some blue mmf leftover from another cake so instead of covering the cake in yellow as the one in the book is, I did it in blue.

Where is the search feature for the galleries now? Before we could put the theme and then all the relevant cakes appear.
indianacakesbylisa 11/1/12 at 3:04pm
I would also love to find out about this feature!!!!!!!!! :-)
Sweet_Cake 11/1/12 at 4:04pm
I used the search on the top right of the page. Then the page give you some options like All/Product/Gallery Image. Select the one that you want and that's it!! =)
Yeloroz65 11/2/12 at 7:33am
That search option doesn't appear to allow you to search within a search like before. I'm trying to search in Children's Birthday cakes, but only for girls. Yesterday I tried searching for a girl's b-day cake several ways, and one of the searches brought up several adult/naughty theme cake. I think I just searched girl birthday cake. That search also brought up wedding cakes, and some random halloween cakes. Before you could do a general search, then there was an option to search within the results to narrow it down more. Does anyone know if that feature still exists?
