This was my first attempt at a carved cake. The cake is covered in marshmallow fondant, and I molded the facial features, shoes and hat out of gumpaste. The arms and hands were a pain - I had to make wire armatures and cover them in gumpaste.

This cake was for a co-worker who loves to knit. The "basket" was piped with homemade chocolate icing, the "blanket" with buttercream icing, and the yarn balls and knitting needles were gumpaste.

This cake was for a friend's birthday. She has a great sense of style and loves fashion, so I wanted a glamorous cake to suit her vivacious personality.

This cake was for a co-worker who loves pirates. He has red hair and wears glasses, so the pirate was supposed to look like him. All the pieces are fondant, including the ear, earring, eye patch and bandanna.

This cake was auctioned off at a fundraiser for a Pop Warner cheerleadering team that was invited to compete at the national championships in Florida. I modeled the fondant cheerleaders' uniforms and color scheme on the teams' actual uniform.
