My first time making a 3d fondant figurine.  Chocolate cake with coconut filling, vanilla buttercream, fondant accents and edible gold dragees.  The jester and gold doubloons are fondant painted with luster dust.

This is a Mardi Gras cake that I made at the last minute after my bite-size cakes flopped.  I'm pretty happy with it.  I need to work on my skills at filling in large spaces with icing but other than that I'm happy with it.

It is supposed to mimmick a kings cake with a mardi gras theme...all fondant, and the actual kings cake is really normal cake made to look like it is real.

This was my first tier'd cake.  It was for a birthday girl with a Mardi Gras theme.  The masks on top of the cake are real ceramic masks that I decorated with real feathers.

Nobody around here really celebrates Mardi Gras, so I had to do a bit of research online for this Birthday Cake. I learned all about the King Cakes, beads and the 3 colours. (Makes me want to visit New Orleans next year!!)
