This was a cake made with the help of Kitagrl! I saw her's on CC and she was kind enough to give me some info on how she made it! Unfortunately, her talent exceeds mine and it didn't turn out as I had hoped but my SIL liked it. I found it is VERY...

Got this idea from a previous post by "frostings". This was my first try at carving a cake. I had a little boy that wanted King Kong on his birthday cake, so I decided to give it a try.

Fondant hand-painted plaque on a sour cream chocolate cake. This is for the daughter of a friend who'll be 16 on Monday. She's a goth heavily into The Cure, even though they were around when I was her age (and I'm nearly 35!!!).

Catch the evil penguin Gromit (Wallace & Gromit 'The Wrong Trousers' episode)

This was my 4th cake (my 2nd 3D cake - I made it for my son's 4th birthday). I covered the cake with fondant on a very humid night and the fondant was melting on me!...

While looking on this site my son came over and saw this cake and said he had to have it for his birthday. What's a good mother to do. It was a very big hit Thanks, Lisa, for posting the instructions.

I used a glass casserole dish to make two half round and put the, together. The legs are black licorice. This is before my cake decorating obsession finally took over and I started trying more things.
