This is a little cake (12" cookie) that I did for a client's child for free, as he just got through open heart surgery. He's had a hard little life for a three year old, health-wise, and I just wanted to cheer him up a bit. He loves cookie monster so I came up with this, but made the biggest part a chocolate chip cookie just so it would be easier to eat and share with nurses or whatever. The cookie monster part is cake and buttercream, with fondant eyes.

This cake is 12"/10"/and 3D Mickey so its very heavy! The head ended up tilting slightly forward and my arms didn't turn out as nicely as I'd like...but ultimately I was very happy with the face itself, which to me is the hardest part to get right. I think the face will attract attention away from other structural differences. I hope! Everything is cake, even the head.

3D cake done for someone who wanted a very special cake for her very special, special-needs daughter....she gave me a stuffed toy she wanted replicated. She was very excited. I have actually never watched this movie so I have no clue what this blue guy is supposed to be haha. All cake and fondant...mostly airbrushed. Had some internal structure issues with this one but I think they more affected serving rather than stability. Although I was glad I started a day early because the arms didn't want to stay put and I had to prop them overnight with royal icing.

I was asked to do this...I did one like this for my son's birthday like maybe three??? years ago...wait...no I guess four! Anyway...this one turned out lots cuter, so its exciting to do the exact cake and see progress over the years. :-) Its the Wilton bear pan with a few icing modifications, and fondant.

Did this pretty much as a favor for someone, I'm not super happy with it, but its ok. I have a previous George cake but it was requested to be like the older George rather than the movie George, so to some it may not look as recognizable. So at least this one is maybe more "younger generation" friendly.

This is the only photo I have of this...I was having issues with his tail, and had to keep it propped while the royal icing was drying. The pickup was so early this morning I wasn't able to take him back out of the box to take a proper photo. Oh well!

Customer wanted to make this scene so we did...hopefully it travels okay, my husband has to take it alone because I have two pickups at the same time.

A variation on a previous Power Ranger, different guy I guess. I dunno, I just copy the picture the customer gives me. Their sons know best! LOL. All is cake including the head which is the 3D ball. Of course I had to throw plenty of disco dust on this one. Fun stuff!

This cake is hand sculpted and I also used an inner stand to support the hat. Used a couple layers of fondant. I really should document how I do these because people ask and I really can't say...I just cut until it looks ok and then decorate as I go following a picture. Sometimes they turn out good, other times not. Thanks for looking.

Thanks to Zaleski2 for inspiring the ball/round/twinkie structure of this! I threw this together real quick for my son's birthday. The cake isn't as neat as I usually want it done and my edible image tore but I think he'll love it just the same! I want to perfect this though, I love Little Einsteins!

I still can't get my MMF the right consistency to be able to cover 3D figures well. However the photo covers alot of mess ups, LOL, and so do "streamers" and "party hats"! haha. Anyway this is to match a party theme of the Curious George from the books, not the new movie.

Batman/Gotham City cake done, a lady wanted a magazine cover copied. Used the wacky cake recipe for allergic customer (no eggs, milk). Base cake is 11x15 and Batman is cut out of additional 9x13 so its raised up.

I am finding that coloring MMF with too much color really messes up the consistency of the fondant...anyone know how to color fondant and still keep it really smooth? Anyway...airbrushed the black shoulder but hand painted the face.

This cake looked fine...until I moved it! :-( The arms are just icing and one side fell almost completely off! I fixed it for now but somehow this cake has to travel a whole hour tomorrow and I am just not sure if its going to make it. Its a large cake. The structure is sturdy but the icing is not so durable.

My MMF is too soft for this cake and I had issues getting the fondant applied! I think the final result is ok but the back of the head...well I didn't take a photo of it for a reason! haha. The fondant is kinda messed up back there. Hope the customer does not mind too much!
