Stacked and carved vanilla buttercake, covered in chocolate ganache and fondant, he's not perfect, but I'm really pleased with how this little guy turned out. Inspiration from Kitagrl's fabulous 3D tigger - thank you.

This is my 2nd attempt at the little red monster. The first Elmo I made was for my own son. This one is for a customer and he has to travel for an hour in the car, so my biggest issue was making him really stable. Its a white chocolate mud cake with raspberry swirl, torted with white chocolate ganache. I used a dolly tin on a, 8" and carved his body. His arms are fondant, legs are offcuts of cake and his head is styrofoam. He was covered in White ganache, and then his fur was made with royal icing. He's sloid as a rock now and will travel even the bumpiest road with ease! I love the white chocolate mud cake it's so nice and moist, but solid to decorate.

This is my version on Aine2's fantastic pooh bear cake, (her's is much better) It is a White Chocolate Mud cake covered in fondant with fondant figures. I made this for my nephew's Christening, my sister in law is a HUGE pooh bear fan so I just had to have a go at it for her.

My first Elmo cake! With all the wonderful Elmo's on CC I just had to try one for my son's first birthday. He is a dolly tin, on an 8" with a 6' carved for the head. (I think his head is too big) Covered in BC with fondant arms, legs and features. I think if I made him for a customer I would rethink the fondant arms and legs as they were quite heavy and started to sag. Thanks to everyone who posted an Elmo with such brilliant instructions.
