Made this for an elderly man at my church for his birthday.  I tried to make it to look worn and tattered.  He absolutly loved it and it actally brought a tear to his eyes which made it all worth it to me.

I made this for a 59th Birthday of a professor of Eastern culture. This cake was a decatant chocolate cake with a ganache crumb coat. It was decorated in chocolate and ivory MMF.   All the words were painted on by hand with gold luster dust paint.

2 books enjoyed by the retiree. Fondant covered, sprayed with water for aged leather look. Painting done with champagne luster dust mixed with lemon extract.  My 17 y.o. DS helped to decorate pages and spines.

We based this on a drawing in the Seuss book Yertle the Turtle....its supposed to be 9 turtles stacked high, we had 7...the bottom turtle's name in the book is Mack, my daughter's name is MacKenzie...so we thought it woudl be cute.

Made for my husband's co-workers, no special reason, just to show appreciation. Choc cake with rhubarb filling, iced in bc, fondant accents. Was really hard to keep from shaking when I painted on the Logo etc. but I think it turned out ok
