Entered a fundraising competition today for a school district and took home a blue ribbon for this puppy cake! Had to be an education theme so I decided to have a puppy eating a video game instead of the homework. Chef Mauro was there, from Cake...

This was a cake I ended up doing this week because someone had a donated charity certificate that expired the end of this year...so I didn't want to let it expire so took the order. The guy was really nice...wanted the animals but said design could...

This was done for a repeat customer who did not have the budget to go totally all out with fondant and lots of themed designs, etc. But I tried to make it really nice with the buttercream. The eagle is all handmade using gumpaste (no mold) and I...

Was supposed to make this cat to match a white and light orange kitty...she gave me a very small photo so I looked up some other cats online to help. Body is cake...paws are icing....head is RKT.

I asked the customer if she wanted a realistic ladybug, or a "cute" one and she said mostly realistic but a little cute. So...I tried to make it fairly realistic, but not so much so where there's ugly mouthpiece things on the front, or eyes, or...

This was a last minute design change...customer had a pic of the cat in a shoebox and I didn't have time to make any last minute box panels...but she did happen to have a brand new, clean shoe box! So that worked! The only thing I don't like is...

Somebody's pet black cat named "Cooper" wearing a Phillies jersey.... I have so much more trouble with cats than dogs...but then I guess its because I'm allergic and tend to keep my distance!

Really should have used an internal wooden structure so I could make Tigger more long and lean looking....but I didn't....so he's fat. :-) (Just used a cardboard and some support straws and dowels through the center) Oh well I guess he's...

This is an oversized chihuahua b/c it needed to serve 40 ppl. haha. The coloring is similar to one of theirs. I do regret that as the coloring set overnight, a couple of my seams became more obvious than when I first made it. Otherwise...I...

This was alot of work, and I was not happy with the head (esp from the side view, almost resembled a pig!) but I think they'll be okay with it. Very bottom layer is styrofoam...next layer (brown rock) is cake...supports inside legs, and then wooden...

This is a reproduction of a groom's bulldog, chewing on an Xbox controller. I prefer the look of airbrushing to handpainting, but its too hard to get the details right with the airbrush without messing up the white parts.

Did a puppy for my son but a customer ordered one with a few variations. I'm mad at myself for getting a smudge right in the top front after my airbrushing was complete. Could not cover it up with fresh airbrushing. Grrr.

A customer who must have alot of faith in me decided they wanted a stork with baby bear cake in 3D. Although the legs are not there and the neck is shortened, I think the idea is still there. This sits on a 20" board and feeds 50. I have to...
