I was being filmed for a feature on one of our local news affiliates and needed a cake to be working on while they were here. Since it will air in early November I wanted fall colors. I made this 6" dummy cake with ombre ruffles and a fantasy flower in shades of the terra cotta. Not pictured...Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes with Brown Sugar SMBC to go with the fall theme. They made the house smell wonderful and allowed the reporter and cameraman to taste my work. TFL!

I just bought a peony cutter set and couldn't wait to try them. The cake (dummy) was inspired by a skirt I saw in a summer clothes spread in Glamour magazine. I also used up some of the orange Fondarific that I won in a contest and that's been sitting on a shelf since February. Coincidently, it's my out-of-state SIL's birthday so I posted it on facebook as a "virtual" birthday cake for her. TFL!

This was my entry in the CO ICES Sweet Times in the Rockies show. The flower on top is a "fantasy" magnolia in gumpaste/fondant, colored with luster dust. Cake is fondant with royal and gumpaste accents.

Love the yellow and ivory color combo. Buttercream with gumpaste flowers.
