White cake w/ citrus rolled buttercream. This was the 1st and only time I used rolled buttercream. It seemed "oily" to me, but tasted great. Green color was sponged on before decorating with buttercream blossoms.

Made this to say thank you to the response of a funeral. I tried to find different ways to say friend. I used an online thesaurus.

one of my first tries at rolled fondant. It was like 6" tall, so the weight of my large ham started to crush my cake. Other than that, not too bad.

First try at a full buttercream cake. Got a few raised eyebrows from other people in my course while icing the green coat. Could have used a few more daisies, perhaps.

I made this for Father's Day. It was my first stacked cake...okay my 2nd if you count that I dissasembled this cake, took off all the icing and made a whole new batch of icing. I taught myself and in any case learned a few things. I wish it had...

Thought I'd try a few things from the Whimsical Bakehouse. I used the "house buttercream" recipe. I like the way it taste, but it's tricky to get it smooth. I also like the way the flower turned out....not bad for my first try i guess.

So again, I am having an off weekend - this cake had so many problems, you may not be able to tell but the raspberry is leaking out of the buttercream (I was in a hurry and didn't level it, I thought it was level enough - won't do that again). It...

I made this for a bridal show. The gumpaste flowers are all my doing. I adore doing them. The brushed embroidery was a bit more subtle than I intended, I should have made the cake a darker green. It was prettier in real life than this photo shows.

The pattern on the buttercream is on the sides too. It actually looked a bit cooler in real life than in this photo. Lemon with Raspberry mousse & jam.

My attempt to make a cactus cake for my brother. The cactus is a pound cake and the pot is a white cake. All the icing is BC and the needles are royal icing. The little worms were a last minute thought made from rolled BC. Everyone thought it was...

Chocolate cake with BC icing, fondant balls and streamers. Boy the camera sure picks up the icing flaws. It actually looks pretty good in person!
