This cake was for a themed party I hosted for a friend visiting from Europe. Cake is 9" and 6" with hot pink gumpaste dahlias in different sizes; it's lemon cake with strawberry buttercream covered in fondant. I was inspired by a cake picture that was in a thread in the forums here. The picture wasn't credited so I don't know who the cake designer is. I had already made the large dahlia, just didn't know what I wanted to do with it until I saw that cake. TFL! **UPDATE** Picture was from The Knot; baker no longer in business. My version of a chocolate covered strawberry cake. I'd love to give credit for the inspiration but I truly don't remember whose cake I saw, sorry! I made it for Mother's Day and later in the day garnished the cake board with real chocolate covered strawberries. I enjoyed making this cake...really quick and easy...really cute..lots of "bang for the buck".

Pink buttercream with dots and gumpaste fantasy flowers made for a friend. Little 6" cake, big flowers and leaves.

Pink with ivory brush embroidery and gumpaste roses. Practice cake. I really enjoy this technique, plan on practicing lots more.
