I was completely shocked and honored to be asked to design a cake for possible publication in Cake Central magazine! Believe me when I say I honestly thought it was a joke at first. After the shock wore off, I got to work and this is what I came up with. The middle tier is meant to resemble lettuce leaves and I made a head of lettuce on top of the cake and a lettuce "rose" at the base of the cake as well. I incorporated the quilting design in the bottom tier and the plaque on top and I used the gold balls on Peter's jacket and as an accent on the bottom tier to tie everything together. As a self taught home decorator, it was such a thrill to be published in such a prestigious magazine and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity!
