Annabakescakes, I know what you mean. The flowers were petal dusted, however, the pictures wouldn't show it. I tried religiously to get the shading...

PRCC, I would like to see a bit more depth to the flowers, like some petal dusts, or air brushing. They seem a bit "plastic" but beautifully...

Cake Club: Your flowers are beautiful. Corners and edges of cake are just a bit pushed out of shape.

Tiered Flower Cascade

In community album: Other / Mixed Shaped Wedding Cakes
1 - 4 of 4 photos
My second wedding cake, my first cascade. Brown and peach roses and chrysanthemums in varying degrees of color. The top starts the darkest color and then the cake "blooms" the lighter ones towards the bottom. There were also gumpaste butterfly accents as well, dusted brown and peach. The cake was a 14" round white velvet cake w/ bc, 8" square white velvet with raspberry filling w/ bx, 6" round chocolate cake w/ cbc and a 3.5" ( I trimmed it for a better look) square keepsake tier that was white velvet w/ bc. All were covered in Antique White Fondant and a pearl border. I purposely rounded the square corners for a softer look on the cake as seen and suggested in some other pictures and tutorials online about mixing tiers or making a "softer" cake.
