My friend who makes all kinds of amazing cakes got really sick right before her sons birthday. She had already drawn up what she wanted to do so I decided to offer up my help despite not really knowing what the heck I was doing. All things considered, I think it turned out pretty good for my first cake. I made marshmallow fondant, and made the tombstone and hand out of rice krispies and she helped where she could with gluing things on and placing and coloring some of the fondant.
Everything is edible and the only store bought stuff was the tiny pumpkins on the border, the gummy worms, and the cookies to make the graveyard dirt. I'd do some things differently, but for a first time cake, I think it turned out pretty good. The Birthday boy loved it.
