this is styrofoam cake for a fair contest. covered in fondant with modeling chocolate flowers.
Won 1st place in kids birthday cakes

Base is cake, tower is rice crispies and castle at top is cake with rice crispy top. used modeling chocolate for some of the decorations and fondant for others. This was vanilla cake with bubble gum frosting.

i used the billowing technique, i started with 2x1 squares and stretched them out a little bigger for the first 3 layers (bottom to top) than went to a 1/2 x 1 for a couple more rows than the last tiny ones were 1x1 filling each one with buttercream...

I made this cake for my neice's 7th birthday, she loves pricesses and fairys. People wer very surprised with it because in this area you don't see anything like that.
