These two cakes are so similar I decided to post them together.
Just 9" hearts iced in b'cream and decorated to be a U.S. flag.

An 8x12x4" sheet is iced in chocolate buttercream. An frosting sheet picture is mounted on a thin piece of fondant before being placed on the top of the cake.
Stars are fondant, painted with gold highlighter dust mixed with vodka.

A single layer 9" hex cake, iced in buttercream. Figure has a mini WonderMold (doll skirt cupcake) dress with doll pick torso covered in fondant and buttercream accents. Flowers are a mix of gp, royal and air-dried b'cream. Stars and tiny hearts are sugar molded. This was actually made for a lady's birthday on July 5th.

A 3 tier celebration cake for our grand country! This is the top tier; the base tier and then as it was displayed in the window of my shop. Iced in buttercream with all fondant decorations - plaques with frosting sheet pictures and glittered stars. The pom-poms are non-edible.

This was made for the family gathering following the funeral of this young man. He had been in Iraq for only a few weeks. It was my 1st and only attempt to make a flag cake.
It's a 9x13x2 sheet plus a small oval. Draped flag is fondant.
