Retirement cake for someone who's hobbies I wasn't sure of. So what better way to mark your exit from the rat race than with a cake that features a rat. All edible, rat is GP, cheese is cake covered in fondant.

Made this cake for a wonderful lady who is retiring after 40 years in nursing and has a equal love for gardening! She is planning on using that energy she put in nursing for 40 years to grow beautiful flowers, so she needed a cake to reflect that. All decorations are either fondant/gumpaste or buttercream. Pills are good and plentys. Cake actually read 40 Years Of Nursing , A Lifetime Of Gardening(gardening part at top of page on right) . Curved to resemble a open book.

This cake was a cake I have done before. It is not really a retirement cake, but a cake done for a memorial dinner for a family member suffering a loss of a loved one. The scence is done by edible imagining and the rest is BC and Fondant accents. If you look closely at the top, you can see the curtain rod, rings and finials - my pics came out blurred. Thanks for looking

The house was made of gingerbread, stones where jelly beans, siding was MMF. The truck was rice crispy treats, covered in MMF, Wheel and other small detail are gumpaste. The bottom everything is sitting on is a full sheet cake. The cake weighted about 30 lbs. The cake was to celebrate someone retirement after working for Penske's for 33 yrs.

This cake was done as a going away cake for one of our Docs who was starting a new practice elsewhere. The cake was a three tier cake covered in fondant. All decorations done in fondant. Pink boarder done in BC. My 1st three tier cake!
