My lil cousin is crazy about spiderman....so his mom asked me for a spiderman cake of course. And this was also on the list of I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A ............ CAKE.

I had so much fun with this cake.  I got a picture of the birthday boy's face, laminated it and then attached it to the fondant body I had made.  Mom's reaction was priceless.

I cut this from a double layer 9 x 13, all buttercream.  I drove this cake to Kansas City from Chicago.....I ended up having to redo the whole top in the hotel room because the box top stuck to the top of the cake.  I learned my lesson in traveling...

Thanks to everyone on this site for inspiring me to create this version of Spider-Man.  It's constructed of 3 different flavor cakes, buttercream icing and the head is made of crispy rice treats.  It's all covered in fondant.

Huge amount of chocolate cake with choc frosting all covered in fondant.  Head is a male wig head also covered in fondant so it also serves as a souvenir of the party.  Thanks to several CCers for the inspiration.

Vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The whole spiderman, good mask, and bad mask are made out of color flow. The spiderweb is colored buttercream icing.

Cake shoulders covered with fondant.  Wolverine's head is a man's styrofoam head painted with glow in the dark paint and sheet foam cut out for his mask.  Wolverine's head glows in the dark through his mask!  Claws are carved and painted to look like...

This cake is covered in red fondant with Royal Icing webbing.  The cake was a yellow cake with chocolate frosting, (requested).   Since they wanted chocolate frosting I decided the easiest way to get the red color was using fondant.  A little tricky...
