This is one of my favorite cakes. It was easy to do and very cute, but more importantly it was my gift to a 70 year old special needs man for his birthday. He was so thrilled with it he cried. Yep, that's why I do cakes!

This cake was done for a friend of mine last August. It's a classic white cake with cream cheese buttercream in the center, basketweaved and roses in regular (butter) buttercream. Notice the very nice blob of roses on the bottom in the center -- when I was done with the cake and trying to move it to take a picture, I stuck my thumb in the basketweave making a major mess! Those roses covered that up and it became the front of the cake! There are about 100 or so roses on top, all done on skewers.
