Hand carved open book with fondant accents, old fashioned "ragged" pages done by dragging a spatula thru buttercream, lots of freehand piped words. Dove and crosses done with a chocolate molds.

This was a small donation cake to go with a certificate for a larger  cake at a later date.  I wanted the cake to have no boards or supports, so I stacked a single 6" on a single 8" and covered it with one piece of fondant--worked great. ...

I took a stringwork class with Toba Garrett at the MI ICES class in March.  I had a great time and it turned out pretty well.  Her egg white royal recipe works very well for stringwork.

I made this cake for this year's confirmation class.  I was asked to do pastels, so I did interconnecting swirls.  I put small rosettes around the base of the cross and a primrose in the center.  All buttercream.

I took a class with Wendy Kromer, Martha Stewart's primary wedding cake designer.  We used scratch made white cake and Swiss meringue buttercream.  She taught us how to cover the board with fondant, make fondant roses & bows.
