I am a South African expat and feeling very depressed at not being able to be in my country during this exciting time of the soccer world cup. (my son's summer vacation starts 3 days AFTER the world cup ends!) So of course I turn to cake decorating...

I am a South African expat and feeling very depressed at not being able to be in my country during this exciting time of the soccer world cup. (my son's summer vacation starts 3 days AFTER the world cup ends!) So of course I turn to cake decorating to cheer up a bit, hence the theme of the cake. Inspiration from one of Carol Deacon's books. A quick tip for anyone interested is that the hexagon shape from a baby's shape sorter toy makes the perfect cutter for a soccer ball.
