CSM- nice carving... i cheat and use the ball pan. :P Id say just give it a darker red cherry color and make a fat stem...but its way cute :)

CSM: Nice job! I agree with the color of the cherry. It seems more orange than red and I'd also leave off the bottom border and use a simpler cake...

CSM - cute idea! I would have made the stem a little thicker, and as others have said, leave off the border at the bottom. I bet he was thrilled!
