This is my first wedding cake (aside from the course 3 finale cake).  After looking at other pictures, she said she wanted the starfish that's on top, some blue (but not all blue fondant) and some sand around it, so this is what I came up with.  To keep the blue from overpowering, I had the idea to add a mini-scallop shell border.  I really enjoyed making this cake!  Everything is painted white chocolate.
