An old highschool classmate found out I did cakes and felt I just had to do her shower cake. She came to me with 3 pictures and told me what she like out of the 3 pictures. She didn't cake how I did it and trusted my judgement.

So one of the things was the lady sitting in a chair. The picture she showed me had the lady in a big arm chair....I had the chair..but I felt she should be comfortable and have her feet up..lol The women clothes chair and ottoman were made out of gumpaste
The rest of the cake she wanted pink and brown..ididn't do the typical wood brown I did a deep dark brown which make the pink stand out more.

When she seen the cake she was ready to cry. She could not believe that the cake was way beyond what she expected. Didnt get a close up pic of the face after the smeared lipstick was corrected...lol The middle pic is the cake at the actual shower. It matche the decor perfectly!!

This was pretty simple. A sheet cake with round pillars as the wheels. The toys were pretty much what made the cake(no pun intended..lol) I love the toys I did this time! I made a teether ring with different shapes. A flower with "girls rule" a heart "baby" and other shapes. Blocks and a doll baby. All made with gumpaste. On the back of the wagon was a baby bib

Another cake with the infamous brown color in the theme. This time its blue and brown. She wanted a gift box cake topped with a baby on the bow. This cake was at least 14in high. One of the highest I've done that was only 3 tiers. I made little accesories, the pacifier, teddy bear and baby spoon and fork. The baby on the top had a pacifier and diaper on

Baby shower cake. She wanted something with a lady sitting in a chair. So I created a gumpaste pregnant lady sitting in a chair with her feet up on an ottoman. This was a 3 tier cake, top to bottom: red velvet, yellow with pineapple/strawberry filling, yellow w/buttercream. The buttercream and pineapple filling was made from scratch.

This was for a baby shower. I used the round balls from a pillar/base set as the wheels. The handle bar is a plastic dowel covered in fondant. I used gumpaste to help it stay in the upward position. The fondant make it kind of heavy so it kept drooping. I made the rattle, car, duck and the blocks from fondant. The blocks spelled out "Its A Boy' (oh she actually had the baby boy yesterday, the 1st of Aug).
The image of the train on the side was airbrushed using a train stencil.

Your cakes are so original. How on earth did you do the box?
ccwilson 11/2/12 at 7:30am
I am sorry I have not logged in for quite some time. Which box are you referring too?
carmonscakes 11/2/12 at 7:31am
Thank You :-) I am not sure what you mean by the box though.

Im not sure why I have comments that don`t refer to my cakes.... I think there is a problem with this site??? Anyone know what that could be???
FondantDreams 11/4/12 at 5:05am
I'm also wondering what all of these comments on my page are? This site is so confusing now.
EmiliaLeslie 11/4/12 at 12:14pm
I am thinking this is because we uploaded our pictures to a community album and not a personal one. :/
smplycreative2 11/4/12 at 3:46pm

Is anybody else finding this new layout extremely confusing? I am hating it, definitely not easier.
Toster 11/4/12 at 6:47pm

Yea, I found all of these comments on my cake page too and was like oh that's nice until I realized it wasn't for me??…. This is a little confusing!! ><

Yes, this new set-up is too weird. I know I should have read the manual before attempting to navigate through the new CC, but I guess old habits are hard to break and I didn't have to do that when I signed up for the original CC, everything was pretty self-explanatory. I don't have much time to be on the computer so spending the little time I have taking a class to learn how to make my way though is not fun, lol, not at all.
BlueCactus 11/15/12 at 9:56pm
ahhhh, i'm looking at my baby shower cakes and a whole bunch of confused comments.... i think they are having some monumental teething issues with the new design. Me thinks someone will be working through the evenings to resolve these numerous issues.
