The instruction was to make a girly bowling cake. I took lots of inspiration from CC, thanks! Lots of glitter and pink. Will mnake the bowling ball from RKT if I ever do this again.

Thanks to everyone on here for the great ideas.  I made the ball with rice krispie treats covered in fondant. I also used to vodka trick for the alley.  Vodka with coloring worked perfect.

This was for my grandfather, who used to be big into bowling (candlepin, for those of you outside of New England!).  The pins and ball are made of fondant and the alley is peanut butter buttercream with brown coloring mixed in.  Thanks for looking!
