I use parchment circles in my pans, not waxed paper.
It is from Argentina. I used it a dummy, but would never use it on a real cake as it contains gelatin. It has a strong odour - really "chemically". One of my employees tasted it and said it had a gross fake flavour. It was hard to knead...
I freely admit to being a cake snob. You couldn't pay me to eat cake from Wal-Mart. Well, I might eat a slice for a couple thou -depending upon how broke I was......

But seriously now, are you a business or are you a charity? Reading your post made me angry. Not at the client, but angry at you for being a doormat. Get you some cakeballs, girl, and stop letting the clients run your business.

I use Kopykake (HATE that WT spelling) and have never had a problem.
Oh now a fluorescent light cover just HAS to be food safe.
