Thank you so much everybody for your kind responses! You have lifted my spirits and given me food for thought. Thanks also to –K8Memphis, I’ll definitely check out your book recommendation!   This is what I’ve gathered from your advice, I believe it well worth repeating (if only for my own future reference :)   RULES FOR A MORE EFFICIENT CAKE DECORATING PROCESS:   1) Find simpler designs. 2) Keep customer’s expectations in mind (not only my own). 3) Let...

I know I'm still learning with each cake, but at this rate I don't see how I could ever make any profit, since it seems to take me longer with each job and I couldn't possibly charge for 14 hours work :(   Could...
thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
Thank you so much everybody!! Your suggestions make perfect sense, and that's what I'll do @Godot: Sorry for the ignorance, but what is "SP or GP"?Thanks again everyone!!!
Hi everyone!!Me and my big mouth offered to bake a cake for a friend who wants chocolate frosting with a print out on rice paper (edible image) on top :/ Can this actually be accomplished? Won't the colors of the image be totally lost in the dark of the chocolate??I have used edible rice paper on top of cakes before, but the frosting has always been a nice white or ivory color and I can tell that the paper kind of "melts" into the frosting, that's whats keeping me worried...
Copy that!! Thank you both!!
