Thank you everyone for the quick replies. I have some clear vanilla. I will give it a try.
I am making a b-day cake for a friends daughter and some of my gel food colors have dried up. Is there a way to fix them? I really need a reply fast. Thanks to any and all who can help.
You will have to use dowel rods in the layers to hold the weight of the cake on top of it. Here is a link to give you an idea how to stack them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwnKzv7PUso&feature=related
I would think you could just use a round tip and pipe it in dots like you would pipe with a star tip. I hope this works for you. Good luck!
I like that idea, but I don't know if that would be considered food safe. Does anyone know for sure if transparency sheets would be safe to use?
Thanks for your suggestions. I will give it a try using those and see how things work out for me.
I have been wanting to try making chocolate ribbons and wrapping cakes in chocolate, but I don't live close to a craft store to buy the acetate sheets that people have said you need to use for this. Is there a different plastic or waxed paper or something that I can use to make these things? Thanks
Thank you all very much for your help. I am going to make that cake Monday. I have a full weekend or I would start it today. Thanks again!
OH, wow that one made me cry! lol
I was just looking at this video yesterday and I think this would work the best for a guitar since you will want a smooth finish not scratchy looking.http://youtu.be/2IxFNEFJTtc
