I am a neebie so excuse me on the obvious questions??

Which is better: Regular fondant or MMF? Is MMF easy and foolproof to make?

I am nervous about my first fondant cake and dont know if I should take the time to try the MMF. What do you all think?

Thanks!!!

MMF is not hard, but not foolproof for a beginnger. It helps to use ready-made fondant for a first cake. Wilton has a less than great taste, but is easy to work with.

Try making MMF, but be sure to hold back some of the sugar. It may not require all of it. Adding too much will make the fondant too dry.

I think that it helped me to try the regular (Wilton) fondant first, to get an idea of what it should feel like or how it should act. Then, when you are making MMF or RBC (rolled buttercream), you know how it should feel and handle (as far as how much sugar, or if you have kneaded it enough). You also better understand when people complain about the taste of the regular! (For me, it was more of a lack of taste than a bad taste.) icon_razz.gif
