AI've been asked to make a Minnie Mouse cake this weekend. It needs to have black Minnie silhouettes around the outside edge with pink bows, as well as ears on top. I don't work with fondant, so I'm trying to decide how best to do these. It'll be an outside party, 74 & humid. I can do royal icing but am concerned about putting them flat or upright on a buttercream cake, will they dissolve? Or modeling chocolate, but don't know how much heat that can take. Thoughts?

NO they will not.  I've done it many times.  Coat the back of the piece w/a thin layer of white chocolate - now you can either lay them flat on the cake or stand them up using sucker sticks or such for support.
