Using Ganache For The First Time And Have A ?

Hey, I am using ganache for the first time to cover my cake. I made a 2:1 ratio using 60% chocolate and plan to cover a egg shape cake. I normally use a size 18 piping tip to pipe my butter cream on my cake then smooth with a bench scraper. Can use the piping tip with my ganache as well or do I have to use a spatula to apply it? Thanks so much!
I personally wouldn't do that as the ganache may start clogging the tip if it begins to set up. Ganache does not have to be as thick of a layer on that cake as buttercream either. You could always just try it and see how it goes...if it bombs then switch to the spatula...
