AHi guys, not been on in ages, trying to suss out how to work this tablet. Where is best place to buy icing, gum paste for modeling? Thank you xx
AHi Chris, I get my fondant from Tesco usually and gumpaste on ebay or amazon. I've just ordered some from Sugarpaste direct to try, recommended by a few people on the UK thread.
If you're happy to buy online I just usually do a google search and see what's best. I often go back to the same sites but sometimes you can get better deals if you have time to do a google search. I don't have many places locally that stock the quality of paste I usually want. www.cakesraftshop.co.uk is one I sometimes use. It really depends on quantities though.
For fondant to cover cakes with I buy Sattina from www.cakecraftshop.co.uk (NB: there is an error in the spelling in the poster above link) because I like the taste and it's good quality. I do have the advantage of not living too far away from their warehouse though, so that saves on delivery cost.
For making figures etc, I use any fondant I can find nearby (tesco, renshaw) and add a little tylose from a small tub I bought off Amazon. I think I've seen it in Hobbycraft before but could be wrong....
I think Hobbycraft sells gumpaste, you can check their website :-) I love that place.
AOh fabulous that's perfect, thank you, I am a very keen beginner when I can find the time. Xx
AYes, sorry! I am having English lessons on the UK thread! (I'm Welsh, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)
