Thanks.   I made a replica of his mud truck as the topper with him and his bride sitting on the back with the tailgate down in their wedding clothes...with 2 of their dogs in the back.  He'll get a kick out of that.

Yes thanks for the blog info ddaigle. Like I said CC members ROCK! If I ever get a chance to make monster tires I am going to do that. I always wondered how that was done. Please post pictures of your cake. Can't wait to see it.

Thanks.   His wedding is Sep 14th..I'm driving 5 hours with a disassembled, iced, undecorated 4 tier wedding cake plus his mud tires grooms cake.   The hotel is letting me use their frig and kitchen.

Almost everything that could go wrong did. Since the firetruck had more of a semi trailer front I tried to do that but the cake broke icon_cry.gif.  The reason it broke was because (even though I measured) it didn't fit on the support. I must have done something wrong. So I rebaked it today and just made a 6" and cut it down. I measured 4 times. I have the check that measuring tape to make sure it works right. It couldn't have been me icon_biggrin.gif. Anyway, I finally got it after I added additional cake board to the support. Thanks for all your help. I learn so much on CC!  I'll post a picture in the gallery. I can't upload it here for some reason.

Hi Debbie. I was contacted about a fire truck cake and I love the one you did. I wanted to ask you, how many servings does the cake you made serves? Thank you for your instructions.

Were you going for a cartoony look? It's real cute, don't know if that was your intention or not, but it's adorable with the roundy look it has.

AI wasn't sure as this is the first cake I had done that was this big and supported in this way. I think one of the problems is my wilton cake pans although this cake is more rounded than usual. My cakes usually have rounded corners no matter how hard I try to get a sharp edge. The person I made it for loved it and it was delivered in one piece! The only problem is the grill on the front came off so it was repaired. Thanks to everyone for the help! I couldn't have done this without you!
