Is there such thing as a cookie dummy? I'd like to practice my cookie decorating, but if I could skip the whole baking-the-cookie step (and using up a bunch of ingredients!) then that'd be great! Does anyone else practice on something other than a cookie? I'm looking for something that I can cut with my cutters and holds the shape, but will also be a good medium for decorating wit RI on.

Any kind of plaster stuff. It would end up drying hard so you could use it for practice. We used to make our own play doh with flour salt and water and that would get hard.

This is my moms TNT recipe and its what inspired me to be a cookieologist!!

Joans Cookie Dummy Dough

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup salt
1 1/2 cups water

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Combine the flour, salt and water; mix well and knead for 10 minutes. (or save time and throw into your KA, using the paddle or hook attachment). Roll out on a lightly floured surface.
Cut into desired shapes. Smooth edges out before baking.
Bake for 30 minutes; allow to cool.
Decorate with icing for practice. Allow to dry and spray with clear polyurethane on both sides to preserve for future refference.
